The Upper Amazon spreads roughly from the border areas of Brazil, Colombia and Peru westward into the Andes. This region is one of the most interesting for serious adventure and eco travelers to explore.

Regardless of whether you take a river journey on a small ship or stay in a remote jungle lodge, you can interact with different tribes and explore almost inaccessible areas.

We chose to travel by boat up the Amazon River and explore small, seldom-visited tributaries. When the boat was no longer an option, we used motorized canoes to travel even deeper into the forest.
