In northwest Arizona lies the desert town of Lake Havasu City, which has become famous for its main attraction, the London Bridge.

In the early 1970s, an Arizona business magnate dreamed up the idea of bringing the London Bridge to Arizona. At the time, the famous British landmark was deteriorating and slowly sinking into the Thames River from heavy use.

In an effort to save the historic bridge, it was sold for $2.4 million.
