Located in northern Arizona, near the San Francisco Peaks, lies Flagstaff.

Flagstaff is home to ruined pueblos (as in Walnut Canyon), numerous state parks, several lakes and large pine forests. The city also has facilities for astronomy, such as the Lowell, Perkins and U.S. naval observatories.

Sunset Crater National Monument, the Museum of Northern Arizona and Northern Arizona University are in the city, which continues to develop its business and scientific sectors.
