Catalina Island, 22 miles off the coast from Los Angeles, offers clear blue water, quaint shops, restaurants, overnight accommodations and exciting attractions and activities.

Avalon is the island's largest town. Among its most famous landmarks is the Casino Ballroom. This Art Deco masterpiece, once a mecca for big bands and swing dancing, is 12 stories high and 180 feet in diameter. Features include and Art Deco movie theater and a huge ballroom that has an arching, 50-foot-high ceiling.

The island's other primary community is Two Harbors.
