That's a good thing, of course. Savannah is very proud of her history. Since Georgia was the 13th and final colony (set up mainly to keep an eye on those nasty invaders coming in from Florida), Savannah played strategic roles in the Revolutionary, and later, Civil wars. So yes, history is important (but you could probably tell that just by the numerous antique stores scattered throughout the city).
