If you lay on the desert west of Santa Fe at dusk, you'll feel the earth cool. On your back, night happens, and you experience the revelation that you rest on a planet. You notice the planet turn as new stars come to pass over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and dip into the Santa Fe River.

It's not to say that other places in the world don't make you feel a spiritual connection with both the earth and the universe. It's simply to say that in Santa Fe, on your back, in the desert, at night, the connection takes you over.
