If you ever feel like you’re getting too old, take a rafting trip down the Colorado River through Arizona’s Grand Canyon. There, in the deepest part of the inner granite gorge, over a mile below the canyon rim, you’ll see some rock exposed by the river that is black. So black, it doesn’t even cast a reflection.
